This assignment is an in-class one that requires students to do a speech before the class. Public speaking is a part of social studies work.

 

Each student was given a topic from the class textbook to get started. The attached files contain information that was shared with students to help them to prepare and do their speeches.

The attached instructions refer to a bellwork assignment that was  to be done on a sheet of paper and turned in to the teacher the day the work was given.

 

These instructions are for those students who did not do the work on the day it was given.

Consider each type of annotate to be worth one point. There are five paragraphs. The total raw points will be 35. Divide by two to get 18 points that will be recorded in the Aeries grade.

This assignment was introduced on Jan. 18 and 19. It was a map assignment that was done in class for two periods. The attached files show the grading rubric and the map that was given to students to label. This map work is part of the unit of study called Islam. 

This assignment is for absent students.

 

The attached file are the instructions to complete notes to help prepare to do the Arabian Peninsula quiz that is posted on the Canvas website. If students were present, they made the notes in class and used the notes to complete the quiz. 

This assignment was started on 1/11 for Period 1 and 5; and 1/12 for Period 2, 4,and 6.

The attachments are the instructions and rubric for what is called Japan Pop-Up Project. This work was started before the Winter Break but it is a spring semester assignment. All work up to this post was done in class. 

The attached file is a copy of what to draw and label.

 

Students took a blank sheet of paper and drew the islands of Japan. Everything else was added after that.

 

The island drawings were worth 2 points each. Everything else was worth one point.

The attached file is a rubric about the project called Feudal Hierarchy 3-D Display Project. This work was an in-class assignment for three days.

The good way to prepare is for the student to make a personal set of notes from what is given here.  The student's notes can be used to do the quiz.

Look at the attached files to understand how to complete the project called "A Story about the Demise of the Western Roman Empire."

The attached file is a rubric for the project called the Demise of the Western Roman Empire. 

Use the attached file as an example to create the graphic organizer. This activity is part of the focus on the history of Roman citizenship.This activity was started in class on Sept. 21-22.

 

Students will apply the concept of citizenship to themselves. Students will create overlapping rings on a blank sheet of paper and label the rings. Inside each ring, students will write about the student's contributions (or future contributions) to each topic.
