The files are the bellworks that are to be turned in now. It's true that home textbooks will be turned in on Friday during Period 2. If a textbook is needed to complete a bellwork, the classroom will still have textbooks to work with.

At first, an outline was provided and students used their textbooks to complete the outline. Later, the teacher provided a completed outline to help students who need the assistance to complete their notes.

To help prepare for a feudalism test part 2, students were given a reading assignment. It was six paragraphs long. The goal was to read it and annotate it and use it like a notes to help complete the test.

There is a Spring benchmark test to be done soon, near the time of March. Students are being prepared now for this by first making a set of notes. There is currently a Part A and a Part B. After the test, any notes will be turned in for participation credit points. The attached files are for the Part A and B notes done in class. 

The following bellworks are due on February 25: 2/5 or 6,  2/7 or 8,  2/11,  2/12 or 13. The word "or" means the day that the student's period of students met to do the work.

The title of this assignment is "Wet Field Rice Farming Photo Analysis." It was originally in-class work.

 

A set of power point slides are used by the student to analyze eight photographs about this farming method used in Japan. The student completes an outline on a sheet of paper. Each photograph has a numbered title and one or more starting sentences to complete the outline. The student must provide a detailed description of each photograph. After all the photographs have been seen and responded to, one final slide requires the student to use all the recorded observations about the photographs to write a summary about wet field rice farming.  

A Spring semester benchmark test will be given to students on this date, Monday, March 4. Students should already have notes to study. Students will do an annotated exercise of the reading source to help prepare them. Also, expect a practice test on Thursday, February 28 and Friday, March 1.

Note that bellworks 1/24 or 25 and 1/28 focus on ten vocabulary words about Japan, the current topic in this class. Completing these bells will help the student prepare themselves for Japan vocabulary quiz using these ten words.
