Also there are a couple of extra credit opportunities as discussed in class.  Attached you will find two handouts that relate to the extra credit.

 

Extra credit will be accepted until May 28 and will be graded as received!

 

No student may earn more than a combined 100 points of extra credit.  This includes restroom passes, etc.

 

Movie:  30 points HW section OR 20 points exams section

Newspaper article:  5 points per article, article must be in Spanish and it must be attached to assignment

 

 

Final projects are due next Thursday June 4.

 

Students will not have access to Chromebooks on Thursday so they MUST bring items to work on the project that does not require the use of Chromebooks or other electronics.

 

Students should bring hardcopies to edit during class time if their project is a digital one.

Due the possibility of an evacuation drill we did not print essays in school today.  I will do so at 9pm tonight.  That gives students a few extra hours if they need them to work on essay.

Students should have 5 facts about euthanasia, 5 arguments in favor of it, and 5 arguments against it.

 

ex:

Facts:  what countries allow it?  what states allow it? how many people have used it?  

 

Arguments for:  people may suffer less if they are allowed to use Euthanasia

 

Arguments against:  it may be used illegally and more frequently causing unnecessary or premature deaths

 

 

During class on Tuesday students will be given a position (they will not be allow to pick a side).  They will be practicing the skill of debating and argumentation.

 

While at the same time, developing their impromptu speaking skills in Spanish.

 

(It may be hard for some students, but they will be graded for effort and preparation, not only FLUENCY)

 

 

Interactive notebook check 1 will happen October 30, 2014.

Students must bring their notebooks to class, completed, and up to date.

Make-up work will not be allowed.

Late submissions will be penalized 10% per class meeting.

Summaries need to be 1-3 paragraphs long (depending on length on chapter, about 1 paragraph per page) and be free of grammatical and spelling errors.

- be created in color on given paper

- fully illustrate the chapter

- neat
