What is happening this week from the 15th to the 19th. 
 
Monday:
We will continue TimeLife's "A moment of Excellence then once done take the in quiz.  Of course like always you may use all of the notes that were taken during the movie.  Also, remember this movie is on YouTube.  Just search for the title and name of the movie
 
Tuesday and Wednesday:
These days we will finish up the movie and take the quiz.  With the time remaining I will start some Greek Myths on "How the Gods came to be, How Athens got its name, and How Athena was born."
 
Thursday and Friday:
 
I will finish up the remaining Greek myths. we will watch the 1980 "Clash of Titans,"   or the mythical story of Perseus son of the Olympian god Zeus. l
 
All students will be given an assignment choosing one of four myths and creating a story board.  More instructions will be given later.

You will have homework this week and next on Chapter 11 and 12.  Ancient and Classical Greece.  Attached to this homework assignment will be the annotation homework packet for both.
 
The Ancient Greece class warmup will be attached next week when the classes have completed them.
 
Monday:
Finishing up China with short review.
 
Tuesday and Wednesday
I will be telling you the Ancient Mystery story of Wang Fu.  This will take the entire period.
 
Thursday and Friday
We will be starting Ancient Greece with a Greek political map.
 
There  are a number of students who are falling behind on class assignments.  REMEMBER I AM IN MY CLASS DURING LUNCH, PAWS AND AFTERSCHOOL.  Wednesday IS THE ONLY TIME I AM NOT IN CLASS.

On Monday we will be finishing up China Dynasties of Power and taking the Quiz.
 
On Tuesday and Wednesday we will be diving into Dragons and the differences between Eastern and Western Dragons.  You will first do #8  annotation warm up on the differences of Western and Eastern Dragons.  You will be given 20 minutes to complete your warm up.  You will then watch a 15 minuet video on Dragons and finally you will be coloring both a Western and Eastern dragon.  Both annotation and coloring are due on Thursday and Friday.
 
On Thursday and Friday 
We will be continuing the ancient Civilization of China and going over all of the topics on your Cheat sheet.

Wow Can you believe how fast the year has gone!!!!!  As of this Monday 52 day left of the school year.  That is only 24 days in my class.  This is unbelievable!!!!
 
 

  We will be Continuing  Time Life’s “Dynasties of Powers”   After the video we will be taking a quiz and correcting it. Remember if you want to watch the movie again, you can go to YouTube and search for “Dynasties of Powers,” and re-watch the video. Remember as always you may use all notes taken while you were watching in class. 

For all  periods  the warm-ups China #1 and #2 are due, and for periods 1,3 and 5 Chapter 8 lesson 4 will be due at the beginning of class.  Since this is a stack day warm-ups 3 and 4 will be given out at our next meeting

Tuesday and Wednesday:

We will be finishing up  Time Life’s “Dynasties of Powers”  

Thursday and Friday

     We will be continuing the comparing of  Chinese Dragon and Western Dragon. You will be coloring this day.

We will be spending Monday going over the out lay of the Midterm on Monday the topics will be covering are the following
 
The Caste system
Monsoons
Siddartha The Buddha
Rivers
The Aryans
Hinduism
 
Remember all of you are writing a 10 paragraph essay.  Four topics on Egypt, four topics on India with an introduction and conclusion.  This is an open note and book essay, so bring all of your research and information the day of the test.  YOU SHOULD NOT CHOOSE YOUR TOPICS THE DAY OF THE TEST!!!!
 
As of Thursday and Friday, you will have had five weeks to prepare for this essay.  The day of the test you will have to use my lined paper and your own.  Like always all students will have 60 minutes to start and complete this essay test.

What is happening the week of Jan 31st to February 3rd?

Monday January 30th

All classes will finish “Egypt Quest for Immortality” For those classes that have not taken the quiz you will be.  For those classes that have finished the quiz there will be a 15 minuet warm up.

 

Tuesday and Wednesday Jan 31 Feb 1

 

Will be starting the story of “Isis, Osiris and Set, the story of how life started among the Ancient Egyptians.  This will take me the entire period to tell.

 

Thursday and Friday Feb 2nd and 3rd

Mr. Garcia will be at the beach with period 1.  Students who are not participation will be watching DVD.
