Your seventh pass-off will consist of singing all of the solfege intervals, in order, up and down the scale. Have fun practicing with the resources below!

For your pass off, you will the major intervals, starting on the pitch “do” of your choice. You must say all of the syllables in order, and show each hand sign to get full credit. (See below for intervals and rubric evaluation). Be sure to sing up and down the scale for full credit. Voicestra also will sing two random intervals, out of order, for their pass-off.

 

If you are having difficulties, please plan to come by Room 1 during PAWs or after school to practice and complete this assignment.

Please color code your new sheet music that you received for the next semester using the following color-coding methodology for dynamics (see below, and attached). This should be coded for ALL pieces of music, starting with "True Colors." Please complete by Thursday!

crescendo < = red

decrescendo/diminuendo > = blue

Practice by looking at the card, singing it silently to yourself, and then pausing the audio track in between cards. Make a note of which cards you need to practice more (you can print them out if that is useful), and note the time of the attached mp3 track for that card, so you can re-practice those specific cards. Have fun!

1. Attached you should find a copy of these directions, as well as a practice video and a solfege practice guide. You may practice as many times as you need to.
2. When you are ready, use a smartphone, computer, or tablet to create a video. You can log on to youtube.com, use Photobooth, Camera, or any other video-making application. Begin your video by saying your name and grade. Then, if it is your FIRST year in Voicestra, sing a minor scale, starting the pitch “la” of your choice. You must say all of the syllables in order, and show each hand sign to get full credit. If it is your SECOND year in Voicestra, please sing a mixolydian scale, starting and ending on “so.” You may NOT look at any solfege guide or sheet while you are making your video. You must also sing a triad (la-do-mi-do-la for minor or so-ti-re-ti-so for mixolydian) of your scale.

4. Once you are satisfied with your video, use the arrow/upload feature to send or share it with Ms. Koplinka-Loehr. If you can type your name onto your file or in the email, that is preferred; if not, just leave it as is. You must send it to daniellekoplinkaloehr@ccusd.org in order to get credit.

6. If you do not have access to a smartphone or the internet, you may go to the computer lab or library before or afterschool, or come by Room 1 during PAWs or afterschool to practice and complete this assignment.
