***PENCILS... Many of your children do not have pencils. I have a "loaner" box, but lately students are breaking them (for no reason) or forgetting to return them. I will try to continue to loan out pencils, but as the holidays are approaching, school supplies make great stocking stuffers and gifts.

*each month students will be required to read an independent novel, at least one book a month. Students were given a fourth month reading log today to track their reading (Oct. - Jan.). I will check the log at the end of each month for verification of the reading.

- October is free choice,and students should use their lexile score (reading assessment) to help pick out an appropriate book.

- I am attaching a suggested list of novels, but there are so many choices, it does not have to be on this list

- I have also attached the reading log, just in case
