<div>Students I'm so sorry for the late posting.&nbsp; I was having words with my computer this evening.&nbsp; It started updating, and took nearly 3 hours,&nbsp; Arrrrrrrrg!!!!</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Just a note.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>How many of you did what I asked on Thursday and Friday and give your best attempt to tell the story of How life began in Egypt?&nbsp; If you did, how many of you were successful telling the story without adding any extra information?&nbsp; If you were, I' impressed, and if you were not that's ok, it shows that you are all humans.&nbsp; I certainly hope a good majority at least attempted this endeavor.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Anyways, here is an idea what is happening this week of school. &nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div><strong>Monday Feb 5th</strong>.</div>
<div>If I have not already started to do so, we will be discussing the process of Mummification that the Ancient Egyptians were very popular in achieving. &nbsp; We will learn about Canopic Jars, or the pottery that the Egyptians put the four organs in.&nbsp; The lungs, liver, stomach and intestines.&nbsp; We will also talk about the symbol of life called a Scarab or Dung Beetle.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div><strong>HOMEWORK</strong></div>
<div><strong>Chapter 7 Ancient India will be handed out today as well.</strong></div>
<div><strong>Here is the Homework schedule for this and next week.</strong></div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div><strong>Periods 1 and 3 schedule</strong></div>
<div><strong>Lesson 1 is due on Tuesday&nbsp;</strong></div>
<div><strong>Lesson 2 and 3 are due on Thursday</strong></div>
<div><strong>Lesson 4 is due on Tuesday the following week.</strong></div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div><strong>Periods 2, 4 and 6</strong></div>
<div><strong>Lesson 1 and 2 is due on Wednesday</strong></div>
<div><strong>Lesson 3 and 4 is due on Friday</strong></div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div><strong>Tuesday through Friday.</strong></div>
<div>When the process of mummification is finished, students will be drawing and creating a picture ancient Egyptian Canopic Jar drawings. &nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>We will also be creating, and painting Hieroglyphics.&nbsp; Just like the Ancient Sumerian Cuneiform we did on clay, this time the Hieroglyphics will be created and painted on paper.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Also attached to this site, is the Chapter 7 Annotated Indian homework assignment, along with the Indian Cheat sheet.&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div><strong>3rd quarter Mid-term</strong></div>
<div>Remember that your 3rd quarter mid-term will be on Egypt and India on March 15th and 16th .&nbsp; 4 topics on Egypt, and 4 topics on India.&nbsp; The in class essay will have a total of 10 paragraphs, or 8 topics with an introduction and a conclusion.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Every student received the Egyptian Cheat sheet last week, and now the Indian cheat sheet will be handed out tomorrow.&nbsp; It is the responsibility of each and every students to choose 4 topics each on India and Egypt, then research your chosen topic and get ready for the test. &nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Remember that this is an open note open book test, and you may use any information brought the day of the test.&nbsp; Your job after choosing your topics, is to research the chosen topic, and become an expert on those topics. Then, using your 6th grade brain, write to me your best understanding of the information.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div><strong>CHOOSE&nbsp; YOUR TOPICS NOW, EVEN INDIA!&nbsp; EVEN THOUGH WE HAVENOT STARTED INDIA YET, START RESEARCHING SOMETHING THAT MAY INTREST YOU. &nbsp;</strong></div>
<div><strong>DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DAY BEFORE THE TEST, OR EVEN WORSE, THE DAY OF THE TEST TO CHOSE YOUR TOPICS. &nbsp;</strong></div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>The more information you write me about your topics, but most importantly your understanding of the information, the better your grade.&nbsp; The rubric of how the essay is put together has not changed, since our last Mid-term and Final, first and second quarter.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>We will talk in detail in class. &nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Any questions</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Text or call me</div>
<div>310-871-3679</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Mr. G</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
