Welcome!
My name is Mrs. Wilcox and I am looking forward to a great year working with my new students in our new distance learning format!
This year, I am teaching Accelerated Math 6 and Algebra. In Accelerated Math 6 we have a very busy year ahead of us as we tackle all of the 6th grade Common Core Standards and half of the 7th grade CC standards. In Algebra, my job is to help each student to build a solid foundation of Algebraic concepts so that they may be successful in high school mathematics.
All class information will be available on Google Classroom. Classes will meet on zoom twice a week. All students are expected to attend every lesson. The weekly lesson plan will be posted each week by Monday at 8am.
Students will practice DOK level 1, 2, and 3 problems in class and at home.

ixl.com is a wonderful source for DOK1 and DOK 2 problems. ALL students have access to this program thanks to support from the administration!
Additional help will be available during PAWS and during office hours. I will also be available during school hours for individual help as needed.

In general, please complete Active Practice and Math Tasks on a piece of paper and keep them in the Active Practice section of your notebook. Class Notes should be copied into your composition book, Homework assignments (HW05, HW07) will be submitted online in the Google Classroom.

Practice Packet for ACC 7 Placement Test (Updated Dec 2017) (1) (1)
Students who have earned an A in Math 6 at the semester and the third quarter may request the opportunity to take a placement test at the end of the school year to determine readiness for placement into Acc 7th in seventh grade. The placement will be given after school on Thursday, May 31st. Please note that this option will require additional study and preparation by the student as many of the standards required for Acc 7th are not taught in the Math 6 class. Please contact your child’s math teacher for additional information.
