LAST WEEK BELL SCHEDULE: Monday and Wednesday are block days with periods 2, 4, 6; Tuesday and Thursday are block days with periods 1, 3, 5; and Friday, June 18 for 6th and 7th graders the schedule will be: Period 1: 8:20 – 8:55, Period 2: 9:00 – 9:35, Period 3: 9:40 – 10:15, Period 4: 10:20 – 10:55, Period 5: 11:00 – 11:35, Period 6: 11:40 – dismissal which will begin at 12:00. If you would like to eat lunch on the last day of school, you must pre-order your lunch no later than Friday, June 11.
 
STUDENT OF THE MONTH: The Culver City Middle School staff is proud to share the names of today’s Students of the Month: Joey, Dailyn, Carli, Briell, and Nicole. Joey has perfect homework and behavior; he has worked hard all year and has definitely earned this praise! Dailyn is getting this award for greatly improving her behavior the last two months of the school year. Carli’s sense of responsibility and hard work is a wonderful example for all the students in the class. Briell always brings her A-game and is a stellar public speaker. Nicole has matured into an accomplished young woman.
 
LIBRARY: All library books are now past due. If you owe money for lost books it must be paid in cash; outstanding balances will result in 8th graders not getting their promotion certificate and report cards will be withheld for all grade levels. The library is closed to all classes and students through the rest of the school year.
 
LUNCH WITH A SCIENTIST: Dr. Tripati, a climatologist will be here today during lunchtime. Please join us in Room 235 and bring your lunch with you.
 
YEARBOOKS: You may purchase yearbooks after school on Thursday in Room 131 for $45.00 cash only. The top 10 reasons to buy your yearbook: #1: The only place you can gather all your school memories!!!
 
ATTENTION 8TH GRADERS: The Portfolio Exit Interviews will take place today in the Multipurpose Room. The Student vs. Faculty Softball game was very close. Faculty won the game 9 – 8. The 8th Grade Awards Assembly will be held on Thursday, June 10 is by invitation only. Friday, June 11 is the Student vs. Faculty Basketball game during 6th period. Please remember to be in front of school by 4:30 p.m. as the buses leave for Magic Mountain by 5 pm. You MUST have your student ID with you in order to board the bus.
 
LOST AND FOUND: Please come to the office to claim your lost and found items including clothes, glasses, shoes, etc. Anything left in the Lost and Found will be donated to charity on June 18, the last day of school.
 
PARENT MEETINGS: Please remind your parent that the last meetings of the year will be held this evening: Panther Partners from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Staff Lounge and PTSA will meet in the Multipurpose Room from 6:30 to 8 pm.
 
COMMUNITY DISCOUNT CARDS: If you haven’t bought your Community Discount Card yet, now is your chance. They’re half price! Please stop by the main office to see Mrs. Pealer to buy your card for only $5.00. They expire on August 31 so still plenty of time to get your money’s worth.
 
LUNCH FOR TODAY: 8th graders must eat on the Middle School patio & cafeteria on Thursday, June 10 because the 8th grade patio will be closed. Today’s special is Meatball Sandwiches with Chips; Orange Chicken. Freshly Made Sandwiches and Salads offered daily. There is Fresh Fruit & Salad Bar at each serving station. Just a reminder: all cafeteria accounts must be paid in full prior to the end of the school year and credit balance will be rolled over to the next school year. E-funds automated payments will be temporarily shut off for the summer; beginning July 1, your regularly scheduled automatic payments will stop and resume on August 23.
 
BREAKFAST FOR TOMORROW: The special is Belgian Waffle with Ham. Fruit and Yogurt, Whole Grain Cereal or Yogurt & String Cheese, Fresh Fruit, and a variety of Milk & Juice. Breakfast is $1.75.
