The Free Summer Lunch Program starts at La Ballona on Monday, June 15 and ends Friday, July 31, 2015. The school is an open site and any child ages 1 to 18 are welcome to free lunch, no questions asked. Meals are not available to adults. Program posters will be placed on school fences the last week of school.
Lunch will be served from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with the exception of Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day.
Effective immediately, drivers heading west on both Garfield and Franklin can only turn right when reaching Elenda.
This summer the high school will be offering a Global Issues class and a Health class for advancement to incoming 9th grade AVID students. If space is available, non-AVID students. Registration form is attached and MUST be returned to the high school by May 29.
Cheer tryouts for the 2015-2016 Cheer Squad will be 2:30pm - 4:30pm on Monday, June 8 and 4:30pm - 6:30pm on Tuesday, June 9. All students have to be in attendance for both days in order to be considered. Monday will be a clinic to learn the cheer and routine and Tuesday will be the actual tryouts. Meet in the cafeteria/patio area.
The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, or CAASPP, which has replaced the Standardized Testing and Reporting, or STAR Program, is the new state academic testing program.

The dates of the Adult School Kids Enrichment Summer Program were ratified by the Board on January 27, 2015 to reflect (2) three-week sessions as opposed to (2) four-week sessions.
