SCHOOL HOLIDAY: There is no school on Monday, May 30 as we celebrate Memorial Day.
8TH GRADE INFORMATION: National Anthem for Promotion: Auditions for singing the Star Spangled Banner at the 8th-grade Promotion will take place at the beginning of lunch on Tuesday, May 31st in Room 1. Please contact Ms. Koplinka-Loehr or Ms. Lizotte if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you there! 8th Grade Picnic: Please turn in your permission slips to Ms. Paris in the office no later than 3pm today. If you do not turn in a slip, you WILL NOT be allowed to go to the picnic. Your 9th grade ID & Yearbook photos will be taken on June 1 & 2 at the high school. You will be receiving order forms from your 1st period teacher. Make sure those get home to your parents and back next week. Extra order forms can be picked up in the main office. Grad Night: Grad night is held at Magic Mountain on Friday, June 3rd. TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT! Portfolio Exit Interviews: Will be held on May 31st, June 1st and 2nd after school in the Multipurpose Room. Appointment times are given in social studies classes. Box Tops for Education Contest: The student with the most box tops delivered to the office by May 31 wins 6 on-field seats at promotion!! Make sure your name is printed legibly.
MONEY OWED BY STUDENTS: Please be sure that any money owed to the cafeteria is paid in full before June 8th in order to clear negative balances. Students may come to the cafeteria "Customer Service Window" any time between 8:30am and 2:00pm to check and pay any balance due. Additionally, if anyone owes money to the library, please pay prior to June 8th. 8th Graders, your promotion tickets will be held if your fines are not all paid by June 8th!
LIBRARY: The library is closed for students’ use due to textbook collections. The library will be open for library books and textbooks returns only. 8h grade home set of textbooks are due, Friday, May 27, 2016 during 2nd period. 7th grade home set of textbooks are due Wed, June 1, 2016 during 2ndt period. 6th grade home set of textbooks are due, Fri., June 3, 2016 during 2nd period.
PRIDE AWARDS: The PRIDE Awards will be held during the PAWs timeslot on May 31 for 6th grade, June 2 for 7th grade and June 3 for 8th grade.
AFTER SCHOOL SPORTS: Congratulations to the Girls Soccer team for their undefeated season and winning the Fiya Soccer championship. Way to Go Girls! Congratulations to the Boys Soccer team for there Great season. Losing only one game all year and being Runner up in the Fiya Soccer Championship. Girls’ Volleyball: All 6th & 7th grade girls interested in trying out for next year’s Middle School VB team’s tryouts are Monday, May 23. Meet in the Middle School Basketball Gym from 3:00 - 4:45PM. Questions please see Coach Sablan! Girls who are interested in learning volleyball and who are going to try out for the MS VB Team we will be conducting practices. Girls Lacrosse: Any Girl interested in playing Girls Lacrosse at the middle school next year there is a meeting on Tuesday, May 24th after school on the practice field. YEARBOOK: For those of you still wishing to purchase a yearbook, they are available for $40.00, cash only. Yearbooks can be pre-ordered in front of 2nd hall at lunch or from Mrs. Vielman in room 210; no personal checks will be accepted. Yearbooks will be on sale while supplies last; so make sure you pre-order. Yearbooks will be distributed on Thursday June 2nd for those who pre-ordered; any remaining yearbooks will go on sale the following day at lunch.
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION: There will be a raffle drawing on May 31st for six $25 gift cards for all students who have participated in collecting box tops throughout the year, so get your box tops in now! The box is located in the Main Office.

CCMS BEACH RIDE: Our CCMS Fun Ride series continues as we head to the beach on Saturday, June 4 and get ready for summer. We'll roll leisurely along Ballona Creek, stopping at Milton Street Park on our way to Playa del Rey. We'll chill by the ocean for a bit, have some fun and catch some rays before heading back, stopping for a snack along the way home. Important notes: The ride will be approximately 8 miles in length and we should return by 3:00. Be sure to bring a bike in good working order, helmet, water, sunscreen and snacks. Optional: Bring $5 to participate in the treat stop. Meet in front of CCMS at 10:30. LUNCH FOR WEEK OF MAY 27 – JUNE 2: On Mondays, CCHS begins its lunch a little early so CCMS students need to make sure you get your food early as the cafeteria needs to be cleared and cleaned for the high school students. Doors will close at 12:15pm and the cafeteria will be cleared by 12:20pm. If you are inside by 12:15pm, you will be allowed to stay in line and get your lunch. Friday: BYO Chicken Sandwich Bar w/Seasoned French Fries; Orange Chicken Bowl w/Chow Mein Noodles. Monday: No School – Memorial Day. Tuesday: Spicy Popcorn Chicken, Mashed Potatoes w/WG Dinner Roll; General TSO Chicken w/Vegetable Low Mein & WG Dinner Roll; Sausage Pizza. Wednesday: BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich w/Oven Baked Potato Wedges; Sweet ‘n Sour Chicken w/Steamed Brown Rice; Thursday: Baked Chicken w/Koos Koos; Panini Sandwich Bar w/Oven Baked Potato Wedges; Meat Lover’s Pizza. Friday: BYO Burrito /Spanish Rice; Orange Chicken w/Chow Mein Noodles. Cheese and Pepperoni Pizza, Fresh Garden Salad Bar and Milk served daily. Lunch is $3.00. To find out what lunch is for tomorrow, you can follow the “cclunchlady” on twitter every day BEFORE school. All food lines feature a selection of a fresh fruit & salad bar. A variety of fresh made salads and sandwiches will be available. You must take a minimum of ½ cup Fruit and/or Vegetables with every lunch. Water is NOT included with your meal. The cost for bottled is $1.00. Everyone must use their PIN when purchasing lunch – NO EXCEPTIONS! Vegetarian Items available daily!
