Principal’s Message
Greetings! I am incredibly excited to be the new Principal at Culver City Middle School (CCMS)! I know Culver City is a wonderful place to live and work, and I hope to contribute to this exceptional community. I look forward to working with all stakeholders to ensure an amazing school year.

Before coming to CCMS, I worked for Community Harvest Charter School (CHCS) as the Athletic and Special Education Director. In addition, I remained in the classroom, teaching math and science full-time. CHCS was born from New Roads School, where I taught science and was the Middle School Athletic Director. Before that, I administrated all Athletic and Education Programs at Heart of Los Angeles Youth, an after-school youth center near downtown Los Angeles. While teaching, I earned a Master of Science Education degree in Science Education from the University of Southern California and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from California State University, Northridge. These incredible experiences have prepared me well for the upcoming challenges this year.

At CCMS, my responsibilities included Instructional Supervision, implementing both our Progressive Discipline and Comprehensive School Safety Plans, and participating in monthly English Learner Advisory Counsel and Booster Club meetings. I collaborated and supported teachers in their efforts in the classroom, and communicated with parents about the educational growth of their children. I was, and will continue to be an active and visual presence in and around the classroom and am open at all times to listen to the needs of my students, teachers, and parents. I consistently give my best effort to listen, guide, and support all parties involved.

On a personal note, I enjoy spending my free time with my family: Angie (my better half), daughters Alyssa (8 years old) and Julianne (newborn) and son James (5 years old).

I look forward to meeting with you! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns, or better yet, any compliments. I believe it is essential that students, parents, school and community work together in order to reach maximum learning potential. My door is always open. It is a privilege to be a part of this exceptional community and Culver City Middle School!

Sincerely,

Jon Pearson
