The CC6 quick check is tomorrow and Wednesday. Attached are options for practice/studying. Kids have had access to paper copies of these materials throughout the concept category. 

 

 

Students need to complete HW #4 which is mixed review for their next test on Tuesday/Wednesday March 7th and 8th. Answers are on the back. 

Vol. 2 book - Page 473 #1, 3, 5 and 9 and Page 475, #17, 19 and 21 (answers are in the back of the book).

Page 441 #1-5 and pg. 451 #1-9 odd (answers are in the back of the book). We are learning how to solve two-step equations which is an essential standard and a difficult one. Parents please make sure students are keeping up with homework and classwork.

The defense packet for CC4 is attached. Students wishing to defend this concept category must print and complete it. The test will be given next Thursday/Friday 12/15 and 12/16 during class.

Students need to complete #1-5 on page 69 in their volume 1 book. 

Page 37, #1-5 in course 2, volume 1 book

Students need to complete #1, 3 and 5 on page 171 in their volume 1 book. The test on percents is on November 3rd and 4th. 

Students need to complete problems 1, 3, 5 and 9 on pages 163-164 in their volume 1 book. Answers are in the back of the book. Test for percents will be on Thursday/Friday November 4th and 5th. 

Students need to complete problems 1-9 odd on page 155 in course 2, vol 1 of their book. They can check their answers with a calculator. 

Mental Math worksheet (attached). 

Students must turn in the Q1 defense form on Monday if they wish to defend CC1 and/or CC2 before the end of the quarter. Scores for both are in Aeries and students need to complete the defense packet and bring it with them to PAWs on Thursday 10/13 (date of defenses).

Students need to study for their test as homework. My suggestion is that they choose a worksheet or goal problems from the "Test Practice" folder (posted yesterday) and complete it for homework as a way to study for their test. Students should also look over their foldable and notes. 

Students need to complete the attached worksheet for homework. Quick check is on Thursday/Friday!

Practice for operations with fractions is attached. HW #3 was assigned to be due by Thursday/Friday and everything else are extra resources. The kids have their second quick check next Thursday/Friday October 6th/7th on Operations with Fractions.

Students need to complete the adding/subtracting fractions worksheet (attached).

Students got their tests back in class and worked on an error analysis page. This is to teach kids the difference between different types of errors so they can really focus on the types of errors they make most often and then work to fix them (increase learning). Students should have completed this in class and if not need to finish it for homework, get it signed by their parent and turn it in on Thursday. 

 

We are working on multiplying and dividing fractions so students can choose 2 of the following pages to do for homework. They can always do more if they feel like they need the practice.

Students do not have homework because they took their first test on integers and order of operations. Grades will be up over the weekend and I will likely pass them back on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week (students who were absent still need to take the test). 

 

Students will be given the opportunity to test again on CC1 at the quarter and semester if they are unhappy with their grade and would like to try and improve it. More information regarding defenses will be posted closer to the end of the quarter. 

Students need to study for their first test on Thursday/Friday of this week. This test will be on integer rules and order of operations. 

 

Homework is attached with answers (Integers - mixed review or all operations) as well as other resources students can use to study for their test.

Students need to complete pg. 219 in vol. 1, #1-11 (odd) and correct their work using the answers in the back of the book.

Students are receiving 2 textbooks in class on Tues/Wed. Homework is to complete Pg. 207, #1-9 odd and Pg. 209, #21-29 odd (course 2, volume 1). Students should correct their work using the answers in the back of the book. 

Thank you for a great first week of school! There is no homework over the weekend except to try and get the recommended supplies. Whiteboard markers, binder/dividers, pens, pencils and lined paper. I can get these materials for students who need them just make sure to communicate this to me outside of class.

 

If you would like to try the OOO challenge again you can search OOO Challenge on youtube. Students who complete the problem correctly and show all steps will get a prize. This will be due by Friday September 9th.
