Art and Science MUSEUM EXHIBIT CHOICES

Choice 1: Create a post modern art version of a cell that explains the functions of the cell parts.

Find materials that represent different parts of the cell and their function.  Assemble the materials into a structure that represents the cell. Include labels of the structures, what organelle they represent, and an explanation of what the structures do.

Choice 2: Create a picture board that stands on its own of a system that is an analogy for how the cell works, i.e. a school, a shopping mall, a warehouse, a sports team, a prison, a car, a restaurant, etc.

Explain how each part of your system represents each organelle of the cell and that organelle’s function. Include labels of each part and the organelle it represents with explanations.

Choice 3: create a 3-D model of a cell in your organism.

Explain each organelle of the cell and the organelle’s structure and function. Include labels.

CHOICE 4: Create a drawing of your organism’s cell and compare it with a drawing of another type of cell. What is similar and what is different? MAke Sure the Drawing can Stand up on its own.

Explain how each part of your system represents each organelle of the cell and that organelle’s function. Compare two different types of cells, i.e. animal vs. plant, eukaryotic vs prokaryotic, etc.
