New Book Report due Thursday, Jan 4th - Kids are choosing their book today. They have a choice of Fiction or Non-Fiction.

Graded annotation and questions for article "The Act of Learning." Students need to annotate using the annotation guide and answer the questions. The annotation skills will be graded as well as the questions!! It is attached below

Finish Article Questions "Teen's Company Cleans Up". There are 8 questions. We read the article and annotated it in class.

Some students may have the Wonder journal to do if they did not finish in class. No other homework. 

Book Report Due Oct 27th. Students are going to pick out their book from the school library on Monday Sept 19th and will have 5 weeks to read and finish their book report. They will receive the directions and book report form on Monday Sept 19th. Please encourage them to read at least 20 min a night or more. They should aim to finish the book near Oct 20th.

Also, students can work on typing their basketball essays at home but their body paragraphs should have the below. Also, they should use transition words.

If your child didn't do Monday's homework to fill in the middle parts of the basketball traveling team essay planning sheet, they should do that tonight. If they did it then there is no new homeworK:)

1) Book Report Due Oct 27th

2) Do evidence/explanation planning sheet for "Traveling Basketball Teams" article. Students DO NOT NEED TO DO THE INTRO/CONCLUSION. They should pick one side whether they think traveling teams were good or bad and 3 reasons from the text (yellow). We read and highlighted today in class. We also made a pros/cons chart. The explanations underneath the reasons need to be from the students' heads. 

Students need to do "Cat" article Questions. We will read this aloud and annotate on Monday. The questions are a grade.

Students should have their journal questions finished (1 for group 1/2 and 2 questions for group 3). Students should have turned in their article questions today and if they did not they need to tomorrow.

Article Questions for "Dress Right" were due today.

Continue reading book for Book Report due Oct 27th (students have the form already and should take notes as they read).
