Final day to turn in all missing assignments (points will be deducted for late work).  This is also the last day to turn in any extra credit work.  

Textbooks are due on June 5.  Students will be returning their books to the library with their Period 1 class.  

Conjuguemos Quiz #11- Preterito Irregular verbs.  Students scoring 85% or more on the first try will earn 10 extra credit points.  I am including charts for students to study at home.  All classes are now evaluating each others board games.  Grades will be posted by the end of this week.  The next couple of weeks, we will emphasize on Spanish Reading Comprehension.  Wow! We are down to the last three weeks of school.  Please kindly remind your child to follow all classroom/school rules.  

We have completed our "Conjuguemos" Board Game projects and starting Monday, May 14, students will be presenting their games.  Students will be presenting in groups, but will be evaluated on their individual section. 

Students really enjoyed the process of this assignment.  Not only did they learn the verb conjugations in a fun way, but they learned the importance of communication/planning, etc. for group work.  In all fairness, if for some reason, a student did not fulfill his/her given task with the group; they are being given the option to create their own individual game and turn it in on Monday, May 14 or other options are being given to each student to make up the points he/she may have lost.  I have met with the individual students involved and will notify parents via email.

"Conjuguemos" Test has been extended to next week because of State Testing. 

Periods 1 and 3- May 10.  Periods 2 and 4- May 11.

Please encourage your child to practice the verb conjugations.  Extra credit points will be given to all students who get 85% or above on their first try of test.  I am attaching the Verb Chart in case any of you need it.

Spanish Verb Board Games due dates:  Tuesday, May 8 for Periods 1 and 3.  Wednesday, May 9 for Periods 2 and 4. Students may earn 5 extra credit points if turned in by Monday, May 7.  Plenty of class time has been given to students to work on this project, but some may need a little work at home. Please see the file that I am attaching which contains the directions and rubric used for this assignment.    

Students have been studying Spanish verb conjugations and are now working on a group project in class.  They are designing a Present Tense Verb Conjugation board game.  Most of the work is being done in class.  Students are encouraged to create all materials.  Art materials are available upon request.  Students will be given a rubric, directions and expectations.  I am including a link to the "Verb Conjugation Chart" that includes the verbs to be used.

Hi everyone,

In honor of National Poetry Month, we just finished researching famous Hispanic Poets and have been learning about various literary resources used in Spanish poetry.  

 

It was such a pleasure to have so many of you visit Room 216 for Open House.  We are now ending our unit on Mythology.  Next week (Thurs.3/22 and Fri. 3/23), we will be taking two exams:  "Mitos" and "Conjuguemos".  Students will be preparing for the test in class, but I highly recommend that your child practices the Present Verbs and that he/she reads the "Mitos" book.  Link to the book is in the "Mitos" folder at the bottom of Sra. Miguez's CCMS Classwork/Homework Page.

Mythology Project- Today students started working in class on creating a Myth and a Mythological Creature. Artwork and writing will be done in class, but students may work on it at home if they choose to do so.  Due date is March 12.

 

Vocabulary Test (Spelling and definitions of words #7-#13) will be next week (Tuesday for Periods 1 and 3/Wednesday for Periods 2 and 4).  Vocabulary Menu activities (in students' Interactive Notebook) will be done in class.

This is an update on Homework expectations.  Vocabulary HW, "Conjuguemos" Practice and Reading 20 minutes at home will not be mandatory.  It is only recommended as practice, especially if your child needs more practice with Spanish verb tenses and vocabulary.  Also, please check "Sra. Reread the three sections from the website "Orquesta de Reciclados de Cateura" that we have covered in class. In case you don't remember the titles are "Biografía", "Orquesta" e "Instrumentos". Review your notes in Google Keep. Watch the short video again. Go over the vocabulary in Quizlet once more. Check for facts about Paraguay in the e-mail link you have received.

Graded Practice # 1 in Conjuguemos. The first of a series of activities in this grammar website that focuses on verb conjugations. 

This week we are studying Presente de Indicativo with regular verbs. An accuracy of 80% and a minimum of 40 verbs is required. There will be a mini test for each graded practice activity.
