Walking School Bus Workshop: January 19
Walk 'N Rollers would like to invite you to attend our Walking School Bus Workshop on January 19.
What is a Walking School Bus?
Quite simply, it’s a group of kids, led by volunteers, walking to school together along a specific route and picking up more kids as they go.
It’s a super fun and convenient way for kids to get to school and take part in building a healthier, safer community. Walking School Buses help reduce traffic and pollution around the schools, help kids be more active and teach important life-long lessons in responsibility, time management and community awareness.
How Can I Get Involved?
Please join us for a free 2 hour workshop as we define the program, establish teams for each CCUSD school, plan routes, and overcome obstacles. You will leave the workshop with tools to help your school succeed regardless of what level you are at. So if your school currently has a Walking School bus, we'll show you how to recruit volunteers and promote the program. Or if you are starting from scratch, we'll show you how to define your program, recruit students, plan a route, recruit volunteers and promote the program.
Who Should Attend?
- Parents who are already walking to school and would like to encourage others to join them.
- Parents who would like to walk to school but have time or route concerns
- Adults willing and able to help plan and lead a walking school bus
