We would like to thank all of the incoming 5th grade parents who attended our 5th Grade Orientation Night/Elective Faire last May. The turnout was very impressive! I hope that all of you decide to get involved in the many parent organizations that exist at CCMS this year. Hopefully your student had a great time at our 5th Grade Rally! The feedback that we have received from students regarding the event was very positive!

 

We have begun the process of scheduling students into classes for 2010-2011. Your child's counselor has visited elementary school classrooms and distributed CCMS Elective Handbooks to students as well as guiding them through the elective selection process. Students were asked to return the Elective Selection Form after receiving parental input. This summer, you will be receiving a post card and several automated phone calls from CCMS’s principal, Mr. Pearson with information about enrollment at CCMS. On August 20th, there will be a 6th grade summer registration from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. where you can bring your student to enroll, check out textbooks and receive a schedule. We also offer tours, several informational tables, including study skills during the August registration. Additionally, the PTSA sponsored Student Store will be opened for you to purchase mandatory PE clothes, sweats, supplies, and more.

We realize that the transition to middle school can be a stressful time for students. We want to assure you that we do everything we can to make the transition a smooth and positive one.
