Assignment

Students have been working on finishing reading "Watsons Go to Burningham" in class for the past month and have been encouraged to read at home in order not to fall behind.
Homework:
I. "Watsons Go to Burningham" Comprehension Packets are now due. Students could still turn them in. There will be a point deduction for every day it is turned in late after Monday, April 23, 2012.

2. Facts (5 for each Chapter) are now due. Students could still turn them in. There will be a point deduction for every day it is turned in late after Monday, April 23, 2012.

3. Signed Reading Logs and Stamp Sheets are Due Monday, April 23, 2012.

In an attempt to encourage students to write well developed appropriate paragraphs, I have developed a new DO NOW/Quick Write policy: Every day students will be given a certain amount of time to write about a given prompt and MUST write legibly a minimum of 100 words (125 for Scholar Students) on the topic. These are to be turned in on Mondays. So if for some reason a student is not able to write that much in a given time, he/she may finish at home throughout the week. It will be approximately 3 prompts or less per week.

We have started CST preparation for the upcoming state testing the first week in May (please see CCMS website for detailed schedule information). We will be completing a page per day in class for practice and anything not finished on a given day will be assigned for homework.

Please remind students of appropriate school and classroom behavior. Students are expected to come fully prepared to class each day (paper, pen, pencil, book, and a positive attitude willing to learn).
