Eighth grade students have the opportunity to take Biology Honors: The Living Earth, a high school-level science course offered for acceleration at CCMS. Since this is a high school course, grades earned will appear on students' high school transcripts and be seen by colleges students apply to in the future.

Requirements for Enrollment
To enroll in Biology Honors, students must meet the following criteria:

• Cumulative CCMS GPA of 3.75 or higher
• All B's or above in Accelerated Math 7 (both semesters)
• Concurrent enrollment in Algebra 1
• Concurrent enrollment in Science 8

Enrollment Form
Enrollment will open in Spring and the enrollment form must be completed electronically (English/Spanish version available)

Things to Consider

• Per Education Code 51225.3, students need to complete one life science course between grades 9–12 to receive a high school diploma (this can be met with Anatomy-Physiology or AP Biology).
• Students earn 10 credits, and both semester grades will appear on their high school transcript.
