Complete your map of Greece!  Please make sure you check for any spelling errors.  Label in pencil first and then after you've checked for spelling errors label in pen for  your final product. Study for the chapter 4 test. We will use for study guide I gave you in class. All questions for the test will come from the study guide and the Empires mapping activity (document #5--the pink paper) that we did for warm up on 11/19--11/20

 

Have in your possession for class on this date, your part of the group poster project. Your group poster will be assembled during class.

Chapter 4 test will be on Tuesday, November 27

 

Complete your part for the group poster about inventions from early man (500,000BC) to Mesopotamian days (2000 BC) that we have in the modern 21st century.

Bring your contribution of the work to class for your poster group meeting on Monday.

 

Although I will not be checking it or us going over it in class, complete the study guide (document #6 --blue paper)  for Chapter 4 passed out in class on Mon 11/19 -- Tues 11/20. All test questions for chapter 4 test will come from this document and from the empires map we did on Mon. 11/19. Study these two documents well and you should make an "A" on the test!

Research either using the internet or the atlas map on page A20 of your book the modern countries which made up the region called Mesopotamia.

Complete chapter 3/Lesson 1 vocabulary terms (definition and one detail/fact that further explains the term)  6 words in all.

Chapter 2 test on Monday. Study for test. Use the study guide from class. Study aids are your lesson read-along notes, warm ups, and map interpretation on page 52. Be familiar with the "comparative chart" that we did in class on Tuesday/Wed, which serves as a "summary" of the chapter.

There is no "re-do" test for chapter 2.

Complete the chapter 2/lesson 3 notes questions we started in class.

Your homework is the WRITING ASSIGNMENT you were told about last week when we did warm up questions 3, 4, & 5.

We had post-discussion of each of these questions, and you were asked to write expanded information about each of the warm up questions based upon the teacher-led brainstorming the class did.

You can use your warm-up questions from Week 5 Q 3, 4, and 5 to help you with your response.

This is a 20 point assignment and counts as a "quiz" so did it well.

You can type or handwrite in ink your short essay response answers. If you type it, use 12 point font size.

 

Your assignment is to:

 

1.  EXPLAIN  how the introduction of farming and raising animals significantly change how early people lived.

 

2. EXPLAIN the two homan factors themes of geography (movement and human environment interaction) as they relate to early man.

Chapter 1 test so you need to study. Use the study notes you wrote down in class to help you focus on the topics which you will be asked about on the test.

 

Assemble your Chapter 1 classwork notes to be turned in before you take the test. You got the "Classwork Checklist" to staple to your notes and to tell you the four notes pages I want you to submit.

This is a must due date. No late turn ins if you forget to bring to class because you should put everything back in your notebook in the "Classnotes" section.

Draw a political and physical "combined" map of the state of Alabama, USA. Include the names properly labeled of the four surrounding states, the capital city and other major cities in the state. Appropriately label the cities and use the city symbols (capital is different from regular cities). Include and label the major river systems, some lakes,, the Gulf of Mexico, the mountains (what is tne name of the mountain range?). What is the latitude and longitude of Birmingham, AL? De sure to include a key/legend. Use a compass rose.

Read pages 8 - 12 to help you answer the questions on page 12. Answer questions 3-7. Also, answer the "blue box" REVIEW questions (3 of them total) that are at the end of each reading section. The review questions are at the end of the sections located on pages 10, 11, 12.

Complete the five vocabulary words using the yellow vocabulary handout given in class. Define each word and give examples or an illustration of the word.

Turn in today the signed yellow syllabus. Give pink letter to your parent or guardian.
