CC9 Quick Check (our LAST Quick Check!) will be next Thursday/Friday 5/26 or 5/27. That way you will get your test back the following Tuesday/Wednesday and be able to defend Thursday/Friday June 2/June3 if needed. 

 

It will be a short Quick Check and not cover all the learning targets in CC9 Geometry. It will focus on area and composite areas. We will look at Volume and Surface area after our Quick Check.

Please make sure you work on these review homeworks as they prepare you for the end of the year Essential Standards test. Star the questions that give you trouble so you know what topics to focus your studying on. 

Defenses for CC7 Percents HAVE BEEN MOVED to Thurs 4/28 due to Pride Awards. 

You must come to PAWS this Thursday 4/21 or next Tuesday 4/25 or after school to practice with me.

 

Dont forget to get stamped for 4/28 PAWS to take the defense.

As we gear up for the end of the year, we begin to review for our End of the Year Essential Standards test. This test will encompass all the critical standards that should be mastered before entering 7th grade. We took our first formative assessment this week that reflects what we have learned in the first semester. This will tell you what you should begin to focus studying on to help you for the end of the year. Use my homework website for review materials like old goal problems, homeworks  and notes. 

 

Attached is Mixed Review #1 and #2.. Only complete #1 now. 

Defenses for CC6 Ratios, Rates and Measurement. 

 

If you plan on defending then come to PAWS Thursday and the Defense will be during PAWS or after school next Tuesday, 3/22. 

 

Study your old Goal Problems, notes, HWs, and warmups!

CC7 Graded Quick Check on Percents will be Monday. 

 

I will be in my class after school on Thursday and you may come to PAWS. Those will be the final two opportunities outside of class to practice before your test.

Keep studying for the second half of your CC6 Test that continues on Tues/Wed. The second half will be medium (DOK 2) and hardest (DOK 3) level questions on the test. Take advantage of the extra time to go over your Quick Check Reviews (which I posted answers to) and try to even come to PAWS on Tuesday. 

CC6 Graded Quick Check is Monday, 2/29. Begin studying ratios, rates and unit rates and measurement conversions.

I would like students to always have a reading book when they come to class in case they finish an assignment early. Please make sure you bring it starting the next time I see you. Thank you!

 

 Progress reports went out today. If your parents received an email today regarding a progress report, please understand that we have only met for two weeks, so I only have 1 formative assessment (Goal Problems #2) to go by. I look forward to us continuing to work hard, learn and improve our study habits as the year progresses! Thank you to all those who have already started coming to PAWS and continuously working at your full potential!

Concept Category 1 Graded Quick Check Monday 9/28.

 

This will be your first graded assignment put into the gradebook on Aeries. Based on how you did on todays Goal Problems you should know how you are doing on the current Concept Category and where you should focus your energy when you study. If you did not do well you should be coming to PAWS Tuesday or Thursday of this week. If you didn't get stamped today and need to come to PAWS please come to me for a stamp.

 

We will be practicing and reviewing for the Quick Check for the rest of the week. You have notes, HWs, and your Goal problems to practice and study.

 

Start studying early!

Your first graded Quick Check will be on Monday, 9/28/15.

 

We have been reviewing all week and I am happy to see so many of you coming to PAWS!! You may use all your resources from class to study; Warm ups, Goal Problems, HWs, and notes! Remember, we learned about Evening out and Total Points Strategy on Thurs/Fri, a way to find the average, especially when you are missing information (The Average Cookie problem).

Complete Quick Check. This will be one of the final HWs before your first graded Quick Check this Monday 9/28.

Finish HW06.. Use your notes if you get stuck.

Review your old HWs, Notes, and Daily Warm ups for your Concept Category 2 on Monday. This is not a grade entered into your Academic grade, but is a valuable piece of data for you to better understand where you need to focus your study time and questions for the upcoming Assessment in the next week or so.

 

 

Complete all previous homework assignments.  Students should be ready proceed in class with practice on central tendency and types of graphs.
