Assignment

Hello Class,

Please work to complete your choice project by the due date posted.

Remember, from class, your project must tell the narrative of Chapter 6, Section 2 in one of the following forms:
  • an original poem or narrative based on a children's book or rhyme (could be with a partner)
  • an illustrated edition of my poem (solo)
  • an interactive timeline (I've uploaded Lauryn Kinsella's EXCEPTIONAL timeline that you can use as format)
  • a recipe poem for Colonial Resistance
Best,

Mr. Foster

Due:

Assignment

Hello Classes,

Please complete our Class Notes for the Stamp Act Protests.

Best,

Mr. Foster

Due:

Assignment

Hello Classes and Parents,

Today, we began our study of changes to the British Taxation policies the decade prior to the American Revolution.

Sorry, I played a joke on the kids.  I wrote up a fake "District Tax" to help introduce the Stamp Act and get the students to feel something akin to the colonists' frustrations with their new taxes.

Here's a copy of what I passed out.

It's fake.  There is not a new tax on district paper.

Best,

Mr. Foster

Due:

Assignment

Hello Classes,

Please complete your Cornell Notes and Textbook work for Chapter 5, Section 3.

Attached, you'll find those two worksheets, which we have worked on in class, and an audio recording of me reading the section.

Remember, we will have a multiple choice quiz on the textbook work after the assignments are collected.

The quiz will turn the Textbook Work for chapter 5, section 3, into a multiple choice test.  Remember, number 11, is a sample of the quiz.

Best,

Mr. Foster

Due:

Assignment

Hello Classes,

As you know, we've been building an understanding of the Columbian Exchange in class and now it's time for you to demonstrate what you've learned.

We've begun these projects in class, but you're tasked with finishing them at home.

Be mindful of your due date and refer back to your directions and resources as you complete your project.

Best,

Mr. Foster

Due:

Assignment

Hello Class,

I apologize, I forget to upload our study guide for the Dissent test last Friday.

As such, let's postpone today's test and reschedule it for our first Block class this week.

Best,

Mr. Foster

Due:

Assignment

Hello Classes,

As you know, we are starting our extra-credit Dissent Presentations in class this Thursday and Friday; however, all students should begin submitting their presentations beginning next Monday, the 24th.

I'll begin scoring them on Aeries that Friday, which should be considered your soft deadline.  Once again, come and work with me before school or during PAWS if you need some guidance.

Best,

Mr. Foster

P.S. I've attached my example to this post and the directions that my example followed.

Due:

Hello Classes,

Your rough draft responses to our Dissent writing prompt have been scored and returned to you.

Once again, come and see me if you would like me to annotate your writing and give you some pointers.

Your final draft is due next Monday.

I've attached our writing prompt in case you need a digital copy of it or our Body Paragraph Writing Directions.

Best,

Mr. Foster

Hello Class,

Great work, today.

We've asked, What is Dissent?, we've discussed forms of dissent, and know, we're researching American Dissenters (past and present).

You've begun your research and presentation and we'll continue to work on it during class; however, I support you working on it at home.

Our incomplete list of Dissenters and Directions are attached to this post.

Best,

Mr. Foster

Hi All,

Here are digital copies of our reading from class and the questions that go along with them.

Remember, we've already discussed the various questions in groups, as a class, and started to write our opinions down, independently.

Many of you have already completed the questions, but in case were absent or needed more time-here they are.

Best,

Mr. Foster

Hello Classes,

Here's a digital copy of our second Class Participation Exercise: Spectrum Discussion, What is Dissent?

We should be able to complete it in class this Thursday or Friday.

You'll either turn it in then, or finish it over the weekend (please don't put it in a backpack abyss).

Clean and annotated versions of our reading are attached to this post.

Best,

Mr. Foster
