Review the Inquiry notes taken in class and write 3 questions for your notes, write one question for each Level 1,2, and 3. Make sure any missing assignments are turned in by Friday, grades are due.

 

Fill in the calendar at the end of every day, do your best to be accurate with the times.

Attached is the Cornell Notes formatted paper is anyone wants to print it out. It is not necessary to have it, but some students find it easier to organize their notes.

Here is the assignment we did in class. Be sure to read and follow the directions.

Here is the syllabus for your new elective class. If you haven't already, be sure to have a parent/guardian sign and return it.

We are setting up our binders, please make students have all necessary materials to be successful. At this time of year, many students are out of lined paper, pens and pencils, this may be a good time to stock up for the end of the year.

Attached is the Binder Guidelines, students do NOT need an additional binder for AVID, they can just add a divider to an existing binder.

Finish reading and annotating the text, Highlight the Pros and Cons of attending an Elite College.

We went over annotating and then annotated the article attached. Sign up for PAWS if you want help with this article.

Binder Check #6 this week. Check your grades and contact your teachers about any missed assignments.

Finish writing a summary for your Inquiry Notes. Binder Check #5 is Monday, make sure your binder is organized and you have all your supplies.

Finish writing a 2-3 sentence to practice your Good Summaries.

Binder Check #4-restock your materials

We will have our first "Official" Binder Check on Wednesday, be sure to bring your binder, time tracker and materials bag.

Finish getting the GIST of the AVID Mission Statement, the worksheets are attached.

Attached is the class syllabus, review, sign and return it to class.

Here is the "Cornell Notes" paper if students want to print it out and use it in class or for other classes to help them organize their notes. This is not required for any classes.

Assignments have been entered into Aeries. Missing or incomplete assignments can be made up, but it will be the students responsibility to make up the assignment and turn it in. Please encourage your student to see Mrs. Halloran (PAWS, before or after school) if they have questions or need help. Late or missing assignments will NOT be accepted after the close of the grading period-12/21/18. These will be semester grades. 

 

Finish the "Good Summaries" Notes by adding questions and writing a brief summary.

Fill in the calendar with your plan for the following week- use the Time Mangement packet to help determine how much time you need for each activity.

A blank calendar is attached if you lost the one handed out in class.

Fill in the calendar everyday, do your best to estimate the time.

Bring Parent Signed Syllabus and Composition Book. Another copy of the syllabus is attached if it has gone missing

Tomorrow is the last day for students to attend PAWS to make up any missing assignments or get notes. Friday will be the last day to turn in any work for AVID. Students will have a new elective on Monday 10/22.

We started the terms in class, try to find the tuition and out of state tuition for one of your examples.

Prepare for Binder Check #5. Finish the Goal Setting work sheet we started in class.

Finish the planning calendar for the upcoming week, it does not need to be color coded.

Here is the calendar that was handed out in class today. Do your best to fill it in with specific activities everyday. This will help to make our Time Management Unit more productive.
