Assignment

On June 6th (Thursday) and June 7th (Friday), there will be the final assessment (counts towards your grade) on concepts covered this school year.

Please make sure to go over the active practice packets in class.  As a general rule, any papers printed on white paper are yours to keep and you can write on them (do not write on colored papers).  On May 28th and May 29th, a stapled review packet was passed out in class.  The questions on the test will be similar with respect to the concepts covered on the review packet.

For the formative assessment that was passed out, the answer keys are attached here as well (they were included in a previous post, too).

NOTICE:

Anyone who wishes to take a defense on CC5 through CC9 can take their defense in class on Tuesday (June 4th) or Wednesday (June 5th).

Defenses cannot be taken during the last week of school.  In addition, for the final test on Thursday/Friday (June 6th and 7th), there will be no defenses offered for that test, so your grade on the final test cannot be made up.  Please study!

Information About Citizenship and Work Habit Ratings:

Both citizenship and work habit rating grades can change so there are always opportunities to improve your rating.  Let's all strive to do and be the best we can and help others in the process.

Citizenship Rating = based on in class behavior.

O = outstanding behavior, student is always respectful of his or her classmates, teachers, and staff.  Follows all CCMS rules and expectations.  They go out of their way to also help their peers whenever possible and are responsible citizens (example: pick up trash, have a positive attitude, and perform a random act of kindness such as helping not only their friends, but their neighbors in their class with understanding math problems, etc).  Student does not get his/her name written on the board.

S = satisfactory behavior, student is always respectful of his or her classmates, teachers, and staff.  They follow all CCMS rules and expectations.  Student gets their name written on the board no more than one time per reporting period.

N = needs improvement, student is usually respectful, but sometimes (whether through actions or words) does or says things that distract from the lesson or put others down.  Student complains at times.  They do not meet CCMS expectations (ex: using phones in class) or need to be reminded/prompted about their behavior.  When the "quiet countdown bell" rings and hits 0, they are still talking.  Student gets their name on the board no more than twice.

U = unsatisfactory behavior, student needs frequent reminders about their behavior and distracts others or disrupts lessons.  They do not meet CCMS expectations (ex: using phones in class) or need to be reminded/prompted about their behavior on a frequent (weekly or daily) basis.  When the "quiet countdown bell" rings and hits 0, they are still talking.  OR Student gets their name on the board frequently.

If a student gets their name written on the board, they can "remove" their name from the board to boost their citizenship rating by writing a half page reflection answering the following questions: 1) why was your name written on the board, 2) identify steps you can take to improve your behavior, 3) give examples of what it means to be a "good citizen."  This way, any student who got their name on the board can still receive a "S" if they write their reflections.

Work Habit Rating = based on homework completion rate.  Each time a student does not complete their homework, they receive an "X."  A student can get Xs removed to improve their rating if they do their homework even past the due date, but they will not receive additional math dollars for late work.

O = completes all homework AND helps others, while not distracting others.
S = default rating, completes almost all homework.  1 homework assignment not completed.
N = completes most homework (may distract others at times, requires redirection).  2 homework assignments not completed.
U = 3 or more homework assignments not completed in the given reporting period or constantly distracts others (frequently off task).
