Dear students and families,
 
First of all, I just want to say stay safe and try to make the best of this situation. I know we are all dealing with at least some level of disappointment; so sorry our field trips and CIMI were cancelled and I am sure there are many other things in our personal lives that may be on hold.  
 
Parents, the last couple of weeks were filled with uncertainty, but I feel so lucky to work with you all and I want you to know that thanks to you we had plenty of hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes and facial tissue throughout the last couple of weeks!
 
I am sure you are getting all kinds of emails and messages, but for me please join the appropriate class on google classroom. They are brand new, there is no work assigned yet, but please check daily from Mon-Fri March 16-20, 2020.

I also wanted to send a huge THANK YOU for all the Valentine's Day love sent my way.  I did a horrible job of keeping track of the gifts this time around, but you all mean so much to me!  I am working with some of the sweetest 7th graders ever!  I am also very grateful for the families that sent the facial tissue and disinfectant wipes!  I hope it is not too premature but I think we are set for the year!!

I wanted to take this opportunity to remind all of you that I will be leading a Spain EF Tour this upcoming summer and all of my students are cordially invited to join (and some of you have already!)  I will be having an information/enrollment meeting this upcoming Tuesday and I sent a flyer with periods 3 and 5 (sorry 6th period, I forgot to send it, I will give to you Monday).

I hope your first week of school went well!
 
Your homework:  
 
1.  Tell your parents about Ms. Hernandez Avalos and write down two questions you have after reading her introduction letter.
 
2.  Find your required materials and bring them to school on Monday, as much as possible.
 
3.  Select one of the introduction assignments and complete it by Monday. 
         A.  Create a pop-up project about yourself.  Draw yourself in the little person-shaped cut-out, draw something interesting about yourself, or paste a cool picture in the center box, write four short descriptions about your life in the provided spaces. 
         B. Do a collage about your summer vacation.  It can be all images or all words or a combination.  
         C.  Do a timeline about your life.  Select 8 important events about your life and put them in chronological order.  Illustrate each in the bigger rectangle and write a short description underneath it. 
          D.  Write an introduction letter.  Tell me about what makes you, you! 
 
This is your first assignment.  Be creative.  Give it your very best. 
 
To get complete credit, you need to do it to the best of your ability, in Spanish (if there's writing) and neatly. If you do not like the template I gave you OR if you "mess up"  you can create your own template (digitally or by hand).
