Culver City Middle School has an after-school robotics program called Bagel Bits. Students join FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams or FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams. High schoolers from FRC Team 702 "Bagel Bytes" come over to help coach them.

Middle school students build robots to complete challenges at competitions. Younger students can also try beginner LEGO robotics kits. Best of all, high school mentors walk over from the high school to help students build, code, and get ready for contests. Students learn engineering, coding, and teamwork.

Along the way, students learned to keep trying even when things got hard. They built skills in problem-solving and teamwork.
