Mr. Long was born and raised in Southern California and is proud to be part of the Culver City community. He currently teaches 7th grade math and enjoys helping make math relatable to students.
Before becoming a teacher, Mr. Long worked as a Los Angeles County Lifeguard from 2011 to 2016 and later spent several years in the real estate and finance industries. He earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science from UC Santa Barbara in 2014 and a Certificate in Finance from UCLA in 2017. Inspired by a desire to work with students, he returned to school and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Pepperdine University in 2022.
Mr. Long has experience teaching both middle school and high school mathematics. He enjoys finding ways to make challenging concepts easier to understand and drawing connections between classroom learning and real-world applications.
Outside of school, Mr. Long enjoys surfing, hiking, traveling, and playing strategy games like chess and poker.
