Erin Smith

Erin Homes Smith is a music educator, administrator, and performer with more than two decades of experience in music and choral education. She currently teaches grades 3–5 in vocal/general music and serves as the middle and high school choral director in the Culver City Unified School District, while also consulting with Angel City Youth Chorale on curriculum-based repertoire and best pedagogical practices.
Before relocating to Los Angeles, Erin spent 22 years teaching in New Jersey, where she directed school choirs, founded and artistically directed a community youth choir, and served as a clinician for treble choirs in Virginia and New Jersey.

Her national arts administration work includes serving as Program Manager of YPC National — a choral directors' summer intensive — where she collaborated with MacArthur Genius Fellow Francisco J. Núñez to implement the pedagogical model of the Young People's Chorus of New York City — and as National Choir Coordinator for American Young Voices, organizing large-scale children's choral events nationwide.
As a professional choral artist in New York, Erin performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. She was a soprano with Downtown Voices, the symphonic choir of Trinity Church Wall Street, whose music program the New York Times called "the top of musical life in New York."

Erin holds a Master of Music from Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts and a Bachelor of Music from UNC Greensboro and is an active member of ACDA, NAfME, and Sigma Alpha Iota.
