You will complete this assignment on paper, and submit your CATCH Poster to the class tray at the front of the room or directly to Mr. Kern. Your poster will be displayed in our classroom, so be sure to make it clear, creative, and engaging.
Your grade will be based on the "Rubric" section of this assignment and any additional feedback will be posted on Google Classroom.
What to Include on Your CATCH Poster:
Be sure to include all of the following elements. You can organize them in any way that makes sense, as long as everything is clear:
Your Name:
Include your full name at the top of your poster.
The Title of the Book:
Write the title of the book you’re focusing on, and make sure it is properly capitalized.
CATCH Strategy:
C: Check Unknowns
Identify five (5) challenging words or phrases from the book and provide their definitions or explanations.
A: Ask Questions
Write five (5) thoughtful questions about the book(characters, plot, themes, etc.).
T: Talk to the Text
Annotate or take notes on important moments in the book to show your interaction with the text.
C: Connect to the Text
Make meaningful connections between the book and your own life or other texts.
H: Highlight Main Ideas
Identify and clearly highlight the main ideas or themes from the book.
Image/Graphic:
Include at least one (1) image that connects to the information presented in your poster and the CATCH strategy.
Decoration and Design:
Decorate and design your poster creatively, ensuring that the information is clear, organized, and visually appealing.
Presentation:
You will present your poster to the class using the overhead projector. During the presentation, you should:
Explain each element of the CATCH strategy on your poster.
Engage the class and clearly communicate your understanding of the book
