Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Math 6 for the 2020-2021 school year! I know this is not how any of us imagined the start of a new school year, but I am so excited to welcome your child to my class. During online learning, we will be having face to face meetings every time we have class and we will get the year started with Panther Prep the first two days of school. Earlier this week, I sent a link to join google classroom to each of the students. Please check your student email and join our google classroom.  If for some reason you did not receive a link, please email me ASAP at [email protected] so I can send you the link.  Remember that google classroom will only work using a student's CCUSD email account.  

All classes at CCMS will start  on Thursday at 8:30am.  Please contact your 1st period teacher if you have not been able to log in to google classroom so that they can directly email you the zoom or google meet link for their class.  Your 1st period teacher can then help you get set up on google classroom for the remainder of the day.

The first two days of school are called “Panther Prep” and is an opportunity for the teachers and staff to show your child our expectations for them while they are students at CCMS. Your child will have the chance to virtually meet each of their teachers and classmates in these two days.  Hopefully this will help to answer some of the many questions that are totally normal at the beginning of a new school year!

I love teaching 6th grade math and I truly hope that your child will enjoy learning math this year with our class.  My favorite things about teaching 6th grade math is the new start that many students get when they are in middle school, watching students become more independent, and the math content that is practical and useful in everyday life.
