I wanted to formally announce to all students and parents that our 4th period class was able to raise the most funds for the Pennies for Paradise campaign.  For that reason ASB will be hosting a party for us this Friday.  I do not know all the details, but we will have to modify our schedule a bit to accommodate.  Thanks to all students and families for your generosity!!!!
 
As you know CCMS is now hosting anython, a fundraiser to raise funds for important programs at our school.  Each night there are different challenges that the students can complete for prizes.   We are also grouped in our 4th period classes, so MAYBE, just maybe we can repeat some victories!  Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about this fundraiser. (and I will try to help you find the answer, from what I hear as a school a significant amount of money has been raised already, but we are 1/4 of the way from our school goal!)

I've started listening to the oral histories and they are amazing!  I've heard about life in Nogales, Arizona and the transnational experience of its people.  I've heard about growing up in the Patagonia region and vacationing in Brazil.  I've heard about an El Marino teacher and her professional journey.    
 
It is my first time doing this project and there have been a few hiccups, thanks for your patience.  For those of you still working on sending me the audio, please don't panic!  We will figure it out, remember I am counting your turn in date as the date you bring me your printed transcript.  If you are having any issues, we will resolve them as we go.  I will try to help out a few students tomorrow and then continue next week after my training.  Thanks for all your hard work and I hope you found your interview as inspiring as I am finding them!

Last day to bring in your donations for the Pennies for Paradise Campaign
 

Paradise is a small town in Northern California in the Sierra Nevada Foothills.  On November 8, 2018, a major wildfire, the Camp Fire, destroyed most of Paradise city. Nearly a hundred people altogether died in the Camp Fire, while tens of thousands were displaced, and tens of thousands of buildings were destroyed, including 90% of the cities school district. It was the most destructive fire in California history.

 

CCMS this year will be fundraising for Paradise Intermediate School. We are here to support them and help them get back on their feet, but we need your help. Each 4th period class will have a small box in their room to collect Pennies, loose change, cash or checks for Paradise Intermediate School.

Collection will begin: Monday, Jan. 14th-Wednesday, Jan. 30th.

 

The 4th period class that raises the most money for Paradise will receive a reward. CCMS, it’s our turn to give and make Paradise get back on their feet.

 Your story must have at least 3 characters and the verbs must be conjugated for at least three different pronouns. 
 
 
Final drafts must be typed using MLA style and will be read in class on Wednesday Oct. 17, 2018.
