Next semester I will be having small groups during our regular zoom class time to help students complete the assignments before they are due (instead of turning them in late or just never turning them in :). Some students will be getting a choice to join these small groups. I would like to know your thoughts before I create them!

Tell me what students you feel the most comfortable being in a breakout room with. Who do you like talking to and working with? Who are you more willing to share answers and ideas with?

STEP 1: Choose one or more of the human body models to make - OR get creative and find your own version or make up your own version.
STEP2: Take a picture/video of yourself with your model and email it to me or attach it to this assignment post.

Complete as many as you want for more extra credit - you have until Thanksgiving break to complete.

Your models will be posted in Google Classroom for other classmates to see!

Create a public service announcement (PSA) about air pollution and exercise. You may work in groups or individually. Upload your final version to SEESAW.

What your PSA needs to include:

1. What causes air pollution?
2. Why is it even more harmful to your body to exercise in air pollution?
3. How can we minimize the effects of air pollution on our bodies when we exercise?
4. How can we reduce air pollution?

Fill this out so that I can see if any changes need to be made to help everyone feel better about distance learning!

This will not count towards your final grade - this is a check-in before your take your test next week.

After watching how Ms. Demeuse uses her data to create a bar graph and create a claim with evidence, you are going to do the same thing with your data during Zoom class.

Read the books and watch the videos about sea cucumbers. Explain what they are and give three interesting facts about them from the books and videos.

Fill out the research notebook to figure out what the gel pod is!

We will start this assessment in Zoom class. On this assessment you will be asked to:
🔬give observations about the gel pod microscope image
🔬make a claim about what the gel pod is (living or nonliving, animal, plant, or bacteria) by using your observations
🔬explain why the gel pod microscope image looks the way it looks (what structures are you seeing in the image, what does the shape tell you, etc?)

Complete the Crime Scene Investigation Lab. This will go into the "Performance Task" Category in the gradebook, but we will go over it together to make sure you understand the lab before you get a final grade on it.

Go through the directions and complete each activity on slides 2- 10. READ CAREFULLY so you don't miss any of the activities! DON'T FORGET TO "TURN IT IN" when you are done.

Read the article about what a cell is and take notes in your science notebook. Look at the slideshow and read the comic book and then answer the question. DO NOT COPY AND PASTE - WRITE IT IN YOUR OWN WORDS.

You will take this during our zoom class. It will not be opened before then and it will close when our block session is over.

Make three observations of the images of the gel pod magnified under a microscope 400X.

Do your best on this but remember that it is just a Pretest! You will not be able to open other tabs while taking this quiz.

2. Get the Google Calendar Chrome Extension so that you receive notifications.

Make a schedule of your classes, your assignments and your teacher's office hours.You can use Google Calendar, alarms on your phone, a handwritten schedule, a planner, a whiteboard, or a typed up schedule. You will share your schedule in Zoom breakout rooms on Thursday/Friday.
