Gratitude helps us to live a happier and healthy life! It has many health benefits; healthier hearts, exercise more, better sleep, more optimistic, overcome adversity better, find greater joy in life, build stronger friendships, and much more! (see videos attached)
How do you develop an attitude of gratitude? There are many ways and we will be practicing one during class today!
✅ Activity: Think about an adult at CCMS who has helped you or made a difference in your life; teacher, administrator, counselor, POD teacher, advisor (it cannot be send to me) this semester. And write them a Thank You Note.
Handwritten notes are the most powerful form of a thank you note, in this digital age it's rare so it feels even more special to receive a handwritten note! However, in distanced learning this is not possible.
There are 2 google docs for you.
> Thank You Card (3 Steps) a formula for writing a thank you card, a MADLIB (fill in the blank, to help with your draft), then ways to send the note.
> Draft: My Thank You Note - this is what you will submit for this classwork assignment! Writing a draft of the thank you note helps you to check spelling, grammar, and to make sure it looks good. Then on a piece of paper, write your note! Take your time and use a darker ink so when you take a picture it's easy to see (markers for thick/bold writing will work even better)! Feel free to decorate your note as much as you want!
Don't forget to submit this assignment with your draft thank you note attached! If you'd like to attach a picture of your final draft written thank you note, you're welcome to do that too.
**Please use the language of: Winter Break, not saying any specific holidays. Happy New Year is fine to include if you choose to!
❗️2 options❗️
1. Write a handwritten thank you note, take a picture of it, and attach it to an email and send to your teacher!
2. If you cannot take a picture of the handwritten note, send the thank you note in the body of the email message.
Encouraging you to put yourself in the shoes of your teacher, how great would it be to receive this right before break? I can confidently say, you're going to make your teachers day!
Did you really enjoy this?! Keep writing some notes! Send them to friends, family, others in your life. If you know their home address, sending a note in the mail is best!
