Language Lab

This class will focus on the California ELD Standards and Common Core Reading Anchor Standards, placing emphasis on the skills of determining and summarizing key ideas, condensing and expanding sentences in writing, making inferences in texts, determining meaning of unfamiliar words and reading complex texts proficiently.  Students are placed according to ELPAC & SBAC scores, in addition to teacher recommendation. 

Language Lab students will improve fluency in reading and comprehension, learn reading strategies to improve their reading, write daily to improve comprehension and become better writers, engage in academic discussions daily, read books that interest them, learn academic vocabulary and new vocabulary strategies, and work effectively in groups.
